Unabashedly Queer Sexual Reclamation

Dana McNight and Seth Girod are a sex-political task force dedicated to the reclamation of the sexual body through comprehensive discussions on consent, anatomy, pleasure centers, harm reduction, masturbation as abstinence, kink and sex ethics. This collective is unabashedly Queer centered and fiercely dedicated to a sex-positivity that understands the intersectionality of class, race, age, ability and gender.
[This workshop tends to work best in group settings ranging from 10 to 30 people. The actual workshop usually lasts 2 hours.]

Self-Expression as Self-Recovery: A Workshop on Art and Healing for Queer People of Colour

This closed workshop is a space for self-identified Two-Spirited and LGBTTQ Indigenous and racialized people/people of colour to explore the healing power of art. The workshop is guided by queer of colour, Two-Spirited, and women of colour feminist theories that help provide an understanding of how art constitutes an act of resistance and empowerment. Participants will explore how images and stories produced by, for, and about queer people of colour have the capacity to help them heal from multiple systems of oppression that have worked to silence and deny them access to their whole selves. Art produced by Two-Spirited and LGBTTQ Indigenous and racialized people/people of colour will be positioned as an act of resistance to this silencing.

Fuck The Script: A Discussion on Consent, Sexuality, and Safe(r) Sex

This workshop is all about the people who will be present in the space. What is it that they want to talk about? What is it that they want to know? What does consent, communication, negotiation, disclosure, and safe(r) sex look like in their lives and those of the people they care for? This discussion is a first step at opening space to talk about sex and sexuality in a way in which diverse realities (queer, people of colour/racialized, Indigenous, Two-Spirited, trans, lesbian, gay, bisexual, pansexual, and asexual, to name a few) are put at the centre of the conversation. This workshop will be co-constructed with the people in the room. At the beginning of the workshop, a list of discussion topics and desire for information will be brainstormed.
